Golf Courses on the Costa Blanca & Murcia

Lo Romero Golf Course

A very nice par 72 course stretching over 6,230 metres with 57 bunkers & 8 lakes coming into play (especially the spectacular 18th with an island green). Lo Romero Golf is set in an amazing location, close to the Mediterranean and Mar Menor Sea, it enjoys a mild climate and is close to small ports and towns with an easy going lifestyle. Located in Pilar de la Horadada, Alicante, it is within easy reach of both Alicante  and San Javier, Murcia airports, via tha AP7 motorway. Lo Romero Golf is a wonderful 18 hole golf course, with a variety of holes designed around the previous landscape, giving some spectacular vistas out to the sea.

Lo Romero Golf boasts possibly one of the most challenging holes on the Costa Blanca. The 18th hole of Lo Romero Golf is a par 4 of 356m (from the yellow tees) played from an elevated tee which looks down onto the island green. The lake surrounding the green calls for the golfer to play a well struck, accurate shot onto the green to walk away with a par on a hole which will be etched into the golfers memory for a lifetime.

 

Las Colinas Golf Course

With a low density housing, it is an eco-friendly development located on a site of great natural beauty, just south of Alicante. Las Colinas golf course is surrounded by over 10,000 hectares of Mediterranen woodland, it is very easily accessed, enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year and offers superb views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor lagoon. A valley surrounded by hills where the golf course blends naturally into the landscape.

 

La Serena

This course is par 72. The course, which is not overly long, very challenging with tight fairways and known for its 16 holes full of water.  This par 72 course is over 6.100 meters long and constructed in accordance with the European and United States golf association´s regulations.Mainly flat,the courses main difficulties are the wind ( its very close to the coast ) and the many water hazards that come into play on a total of 16 out of the 18 holes! La Serena has a traditional structure, accuracy off the tee is a must for the player, who must thread their way to the green through bunkers, desert areas and of course the aforementioned water hazards.

 

Vistabella Golf Course

The 11 hole par 73 course, measuring 6.193 metres off the white tees,Vistabella is located close to San Miguel de Salinas. A recently opened 11 hole par 73 course, measuring 6.193 metres off the white tees,Vistabella is located close to San Miguel de Salinas.  In a natural, rural Spanish setting, designed by former Ryder Cup player Manuel Piñero. The course is beautiful on the eye with subtle doglegs, changes in elevation and large undulating greens that will put the utmost strain on the putter should you leave the ball on the wrong part of the green. Technically,the golf course is fairly demanding as many fairways slope to the left or right meaning shots must be played with the feet above or below the ball, par 4´s are all of modest length with good birdie opportunities if you can find the right level of green with your approach shots.

 

Roda Golf

You´ll find Roda is the perfect place to put your golf skills in practice, and you´ll be in good company. Roda Golf is the home of the PGA´s of Europe international team´s championship. Roda´s most attractive feature is its unique waved design, it looks fantastic and can be tricky at times!

Condition is always excellent, fairways are generous and well-cut, the bunkers are slightly unusual, could take some getting used to…the signature hole has to be the impressive 7th island green par 3 surrounded by water, all in all, a technical, modern course

 

Villamartin Golf Course

Villamartin has become a very popular course in the past year, with huge devolpments there. Having carried out major work on the appearance of the course with a clearly visable updated entrance also a new bar and terrace.

Designed by Paul Putman and opened in 1972, Well worth a play,and known for hosting the 1994 Mediterranean Open. A challenging par 72 measuring 6.132 metres.

A challenging par 72 measuring 6.132 metres. Villamartin´s signature hole (described by some as the best par 3 in Spain), is 230 yards from the elevated back tee and is all carry over a valley and branca to a two-tiered green, with a spectacular view. Villamartin has become a very popular course in the past year, with huge developments there. Las Ramblas Golf Course

An outstanding course in a dramatic,contrasting landscape.A real challenge for most golfers,  One minute you´re trying to stay clear of the trees and shrubbery, the next you´re battling to avoid barren rock outcrops…it’s a battle you might well lose! The first hole is a sharp dogleg right of a par 4 and really sets the tone. There are many blind tees, and one hole in particular is a great par 5 risk-reward hole and some par 4´s are short and drivable if you are accurate.

La Finca Golf Course

La Finca golf course is a par 72. Designed to host top tournaments, the greens are the signature of the course with a variety of different sized and shaped greens. Designed to host top tournaments,José Gancedo has produced a course where the greens are the signature of the course with a variety of different sized and shaped greensIn addition, the course has a reserve hole so that, in the event that one of the holes has to be closed off unexpectedly, players are still able to complete a full 18-hole round.

There are several lakes, streams and reed beds throughout the course that add to the beauty as well as the difficulty of the holes. The course is home to a wide variety of migratory water birds, such as ducks and egrets, while the interior of the course is home to olive and palm trees, thus creating a beautiful backdrop of vegetation with a distinctly Mediterranean flavour. After opening in 2002 became very popular with local societies.

 

El Valle

This midsize, par 71  golf course is located in a beautiful desert valley.The golf course brings together several different types of hole, and leaves the perimeters developed area to one side. Hole boundaries are adjacent to contiguous holes and not to the houses, creating a more open and natural setting to enjoy the game. Instead of size,the course is orientated towards creating difficulties and challenges for the player. Designed by the ledgendary Jack Nicklaus and a part of the award winning Nicklaus Golf Trail. Instead of changing its surroundings to suit the course, El Valle Golf blends effortlessly into the landscape.

Mar Menor

The Trail has been designed by Jack Nicklaus to allow golfers of all abilities to enjoy the game. The Trail has been designed by Jack Nicklaus to allow golfers of all abilities to enjoy the game. The Mar Menor course, which opened its final 9 holes on the 15th of October this year, is perhaps best for high handicappers whilst being a challenge for lower handicappers. The new 9 dramatically upgrade the course with two par 5´s and four par 4´s adding considerable length. Large bunkers and 3 large lakes set in a typically Mediterranean landscape define the course.
